Double Black IPA
Rabbit’s Reserve #5, released February 2013. Bittered with Falconer’s Flight, Chinook, and Cascade hops. Crystal Malts balance the hops while the Midnight Wheat gives it a rich dark color. We finish it off by dry-hopping it with Summit, Cascade, and Columbus whole coned hops for a fragrant aroma and a super bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery. ABV = 9%
Black and completely opaque. Very durable light brown head.
Aroma is fairly mild and mainly has dark roasted grains, but give a nice semblance to very good dark bread.
Mild to medium bitterness. Lasting dark malts aftertaste.
Full body with lively, medium carbonation.
High ABV is mostly hidden in the nose, partially hidden in the taste, and obvious in the feel.

Single finger off white head on a jet black body with nice lacing. Aroma of earthy and grapefruit citrus hops and only a mild hint of roasted malts. Flavors are fairly well balance but lean more to the IPA side as oppose to roasted or stout like with earthy hops and tart citrus hops finishing roasted with some coffee and more tart citrus. This one is fairly dry with full body and light to moderate carbonation. Complex and balanced. One of the better of the genre I have had.
