good use of pecans, delicious really, if not a little overly sweet, just like the pie its modeled after. rich amber ale, with a caramel nuttiness that really is delightful. problem is, i only really want one of these, but when i drink, i like to drink a lot of beer, and so the session aspect is lacking because of the sugar. the malt base is awesome though, real big, and nicely compatible with the nuts added. i wonder if it was aged on pecans or mashed with them or what, i can find any information, but it tastes really nutty, candied, authentic. there is even a sweet honey crackery thing to the malt that basically serves as the pie crust. full bodied and sticky sweet, but a great flavor profile overall. carbonation is robust and tries to help cut the sweet, but it really cant. im intrigued by this, i want more, but i cant drink it, a weird paradox in the beer world, one i dont often encounter. bring this to colorado! we have nothing like it.
