CAN
French vanilla cap of foam that rims over hazy amber. 4
Gooseberry, lime, flowers, and slight toast - all dim. 3.75
Crystal malt whack of toffee, then orange rind, a bunch of pine needle, cedar oil, and Willamette spice. 3.75
Some grassy dry hops to end.
Medium, some chew, a bit of salt. 3.75
Nugget, Simcoe, Willamette, Sorachi Ace, dry hopped with Cascade
Looks the part with some nice lace and the nose, if understated, is perfumed. But the aroma just isn't there, probably because these aren't aroma hops - any brightness is buried by weedy Nugget and Simcoe resin plus lots of burnt grass dry hops, even going a bit astringent and husky. Plus - there's a pile of chewy malts. Very not on trend for 2016’s love of juicy hops, but MM have always gone their own way.
A dose of lupulin, to be sure, but I'd love to see a fruit bomb like Windjammer in cans someday (hop shortage allowing!) 3.75
