I had Windjammer in cask and draft while visiting Ireland. Appearance is medium amber with a light head. Smell is lightly hopped and light fruit or toffee. Taste is a nice mix of malts with toffee from the crystal malt and some dark fruit tones. I wouldn't classify it as American Amber since it lacks the higher ABV and hops of most craft American ambers, but it is a very nice drinking beer with good complexity.

On draught at the Bull & Castle, Dublin.
Amber gold with a tight white head that lumps. Bright gooseberry nose.
Red berry up front with resiny hops with musty white grape skin and nutmeg spice.
Spicy, Red Hots ending and tingly linger. Light to medium, some stick, crisp.
First taste of NZ hops in an amber (Southern Cross, Pacifica, and Nelson Sauvin) and I have to say it's genius. All that fruitiness makes this a unique red that never cloys, drinking far too easy. The hits just keep on coming for Metalman.
