On tap at Bull & Castle, Dublin
Chill-hazed cherry brass with a solid white collar.
Musty, ashy lemon nose.
Toasty peanut malts up front with a bit of red currant, then bug funky, resiny lemon hops.
Granola finish and long pithy linger.
Light to medium, snappy, some chew.
Man, Sorachi Ace is a hard hop to love. This is crisp and balanced, with plenty of toasty malt - reminds me of Blue Point that way - but the hop aggressiveness slows me down. Not my fave hop anyway, so I'm not the the best person to judge, but there it is.
Still, probably the most graceful use of Sorachi Ace I've tasted (and that includes you, Brooklyn.)
