L- Thin, soapy head, dotty feet, and a rich reddish orange somewhere between caramel and beet, hazy from the side but clear from above.
S- Bready, sweet and malty
T- The most forward flavor is that hef ester, with a backdrop of that intense red beet flavor. It's definitely in the background and not the featured occasion, which I register as small flaw considering the name. When you pull air over it, the flavor is almost pure alcohol--like fingernail polish remover status.
F- This is the main place where the beet contributes: there's almost a velvety feel to it, very tannic.
I like this beer, I like the concept and the execution could definitely be worse considering, well, beets. It delivers a fairly satisfying experiment result but I don't know if I would seek it out.

On tap in at the OB brewpub Brevard in NC.
I thought I'd suffer thru this beet Saison for the sake of 'research' (I don't like many saisons nor beets) but it turns out to be quite pleasant. The aroma is particularly nice. I was ready for another when I emptied the glass.
