Passion Fruit Pinner takes the flavors of passion fruit & citrus juice of the original Pinner Throwback IPA and turns them up to 11. The clean malts, with hints of toasted biscuit pair with zesty hops to spice up the taste and aromas from pureed Passion Fruit and a small spike of pureed Blood Orange.

The smell is fruity & extensively aromatic. The taste is bold & pungent, that passion fruit is attacking my tastebuds with full force. I am not too happy about this beer, I guess I just don't like passion fruit very much. I would like to try some passion fruit juice by itself to see if that is the case here. It is worth a try if you not had a beer with passion fruit added to it before, but it will be a forgettable one. Cheers! C-

Clear gold-yellow with a thin head. Smells like thinned fruit juice, not much else. Taste is mostly passion friit over a thin pale malt. Hops are low. Bitterness mostly absent. Feel is crisp and unsticky.

This is a one trick pony with the passion fruit. Not much sophistication. The o ly thi g i enjoy from it is the low alcohol, though there's not really any off flavors either so that's something

Poured from a 12 ounce can into Teku glass.

A: Hazy, straw-yellow with heavy effervescence. Head is voluminous, but short-lived.
S: Mostly smells like Pinner -- a citrus-forward session IPA. But there is a nice fruitiness that's mild enough I probably would have chalked it up to nouveau hops had the can not been purple.
T: Oh! I actually really love what's going on here. I liked Pinner quite a lot, but the passionfruit coming through is pure and authentic, not sugary or syrupy at all. Tart, tropical, and backed up my dry, biscuity malts and pleasantly hoppy hops. Very citrus-forward.
M: Spritely and light, perhaps a touch thin, but that's the style.
O: I'm into it. Highly recommended for lovers of lighter beers that still have a bite. Very drinkable and sure to find wide appeal.

I am CANtinuing to celebrate #IPADay2017, albeit a day later. I had to work my seCANd shift job yesterday, which only gave me the stamina to take on one DIPA before departure. I promise to make up for lost time today as I sit around and CANtemplate my future, especially as The CANQuest (tm) is CANcerned.

From the CAN: "Sip, Sip, Pass"; "coloRADo, USA"; "CAN I Be Blunt?"; "Pack It In, Pack It Out".

The Crack! released some foaming action through the vent. so I gave it a few moments to settle, revealing another brimful craft CAN with nowhere for the tongue to go upon opening. No problem since I CAN cover almost anything, having seen almost everything. It did mean, however, that it was going to be a nice, gentle Glug since such CANs CAN be dangerous. Well, not dangerous, but prone to spillage & I try to avoid messes at all costs these days. My gentleness was still bringing forth a LOT of foaming, so I went with the program, already in progress, to create a foamy, rocky mound of dense, bone-white head with quite good retention. Color was a slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose had a perfume-y citrusiness that I could not put my finger on, but knowing from the label what the adjunct was, I bought into it. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was moderately tart, initially, surprising me since I expected sweetness, based on the nose. It had a definite citrusiness, but unlike anything in recent memory. Instead, the tartness caused a mild puckering of my lips that I actually found enjoyable. I am not a huge fan of tart & sour beers, but this worked for me in an AIPA. Even better was the development of loads of dense, sticky lacing that would require a jackhammer to remove at some point. Finish was tart & dry & despite its relatively low ABV, I could not envision this as something with which I would want to fill a cooler. Sorry, but it just was not my bag.

Rarely a fan of fruit beers, this is one of my favorites. Improves what I consider to be the top session IPA with needed zest, acidity, complexity, nuance.
A) Pours a hazy golden color with a light scarlet tinge.
S) Starts with passion fruit punch: Passion fruit, pineapple, mango, lime, and kiwi with a backdrop of honey-caramel malt.
T) Follows smell, but more... Refreshing, Juicy, succulent and at once tart, then delivered to grass and pine needle hops, and increasing rising bitterness fro fresh hops.
F) Very clean, never cloying. Thirst quencher. Try 24.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a soft yellow color with a decent transparency. Carbonation seems to rise at a slightly faster pace than expected but not too fast. Messy sticky lacing runs here and there. The aroma takes in some light danky sweet oniony hop oils overcoating a sly sticky passionfruit sweetness and then a light bit of zest pops underneath. A little bit of grassiness and then lightened by some breadiness. The flavor seems to blend all of the previously mentioned aromas nicely. No aftertaste nor finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a crisp sessionable sort of oily/slick feel hitting my tongue. Carbonation feels pretty low in this one, I’m okay with that. Overall, as a session IPA it works. I could probably crush a ton of this and be satisfied while fishing or sitting up in my deer stand.

12 oz. Can

Pours a nice yellow color, nice carbonation, with a nice small creamy off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, citrusy. The taste is hoppy, citrusy. Medium body. Overall, a tasty brew.

Slightly hazy, translucent golden color with a towering head. I think this beer is nearing the end of its life cycle, as its pretty active.

Aromas of piney hops, passion fruits and passion fruit rinds, grapefruit, and overall lots of rind and bright aromas.

Flavor is almost candy-like; it's very mild on the bitterness and has a very fruity punch to it. It's definitely a summer day beer. Juicy passion fruit, fresh succulent red grapefruit, faint pine, juicy fruit gum, pale malt, and a sweet, juicy finish.

Feel is a touch watery, but mostly helped with the abundant carbonation masking any lack of body. A resiny, dry finish.

Overall, this isn't going to drop jaws but it's a pretty good hot day IPA. I'll probably try on a few this summer for those blistering days.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. A big thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Smell is of passion fruit, pineapple. Taste is juicy, passion fruit, orange peels, pineapples, moderate bitterness. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall this beer punches above it's weight at 4.9% abv.
