a pretty good beer here, dubbed a brut pils, im not sure if the same enzyme and logic of the brut ipa apply here, but the beer is one of the better i have had from these guys in years, no joke, and i think its leagues better than the little yella pils. its crystal clear like champagne, incredibly light in the glass, fizzy from the bottom all the way to the top of the tall pilsener glass they serve it in at their newish boulder spot. a tall white head on top, it just looks awesome. aroma has a little hoppiness to it, but its the remarkable absence of anything other than the light grain that stands out to me. the yeast is a heck of a fermenter, but its minimally flavorful, meanwhile the hops are lightly citrusy, grassy, not quite all the way noble, but low dose for sure, its the crackery dry fresh pils malt that flavors this the most, although there is great balance here. it seems lighter in every way to a traditional german pils type, less yeast character for sure, and without the grain weight, its almost delicate, especially with such high carbonation, it really drinks quick, refreshes, and is delicious. i have been really down on these guys for lack of any available innovation, but this is really good. in fact, i liked all the new ones i had when i checked out their boulder spot, i wish more of these would make it into cans...
