Another good beer from Oskar Blues. I felt that the hops could use a little more presence which affected the overall taste and mouthfeel. Still a solid beer !

12oz can, part of a mixed 12pack of Can-O-Bliss.

Hazed but not milky, decent lacing on top. Smells citrusy, herbal, and a tad catty. Thick layer of hop flavor is all resin-like with light dank, fresh herb, citrus rind, & fresh grass. There is just enough maltiness to hold it all together, kiss of alcohol as well goes a bit fruity. Bitterness is there, malt body is there but its the hop flavor that is dominant in this IPA. Fun to knock back, nothing mind-blowing but wouldn't mind having it again.

APPEARANCE: Hazy golden, with a rich white head. Average lace.

AROMA: Citrus and floral hops. Very nice.

TASTE: Easygoing, with plenty of citrus (grapefruit, orange, hint of pineapple). No trace of bitterness here, just a smooth and easy-to-drink IPA. Refreshing.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/10/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, pepper, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, pepper, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, pepper, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.2%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Overall this is an excellent hazy IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resin/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesome Mandarina Bavaria, Motueka, Amarillo, Citra, and Azacca profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected of the brewery. No complaints.

Super citrusy, as the name says. We are really enjoying this taste of Spring sitting on Grandpa's front porch in the sunshine with Chili's to go, during the covid-19 quarantine. So weird. But great, great beer. Definitely the pick me up we needed!

Look: It pours orange with a bit of clouding. It has a white head. Head retention is medium.

Smell: It has stone fruit aromas with some tangerine. There are background notes of mango and papaya. There is a low level of breadiness to it as well.

Taste: The tangerine and orange flavors are the strongest. There is a tropical blend in support. There are low levels of bread.

Feel: It has a somewhat creamy texture with medium bitterness.

Overall, it is a beer with plenty going on flavor wise and easy on the bitterness.

12 FL. OZ can
Served in an IPA glass

This beer pours orange and turbid. It is topped with a couple inches of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

There is a nice citrus punch. Grapefruit stands out. I also get some pine.

It has great citrus flavor. Once again grapefruit stands out. There is some bitterness in the finish but no pine.

Medium bodied with a slightly chalky mouthfeel

This is a damn fine beer. It is very crushable and enjoyable.

The price and quality work on this one, wow factor no, but at $2 a 12 oz can, yes please. Poured into a 13 oz Nordic glass, canned 1/08/20 and if I could have actually read the stamped package, I may have avoided it, but drinks just fine with almost 60 days on it. Pours a cloudy yellow orange, with a solid finger head that leaves excellent streaks of lace, with solid retention. 4.25

Smell is mandarin, lemon drop, papaya, pineapple, apricot, and grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows tangerine, papaya, pineapple upfront with lemon drop, apricot, and grapefruit the slightly bitter but balanced finish. 4

Mouthfeel is pretty big, not as soft as a true NEDIPA but still more gentle than most, sticky and slightly dry, and at 8.2% ABV it is going down rather quick. 4.25

Overall well done Oskar Blues Brewery. I will keep this one in my fridge for an emergency. Very nice brew. 4

Appearance: Pours a hazy, deep yellow, slightly orange color reminiscent of orange/pineapple juice. SRM of 6-8. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of ripe tangerine and grapefruit. Only traces of papaya and pineapple. Lots of citrus, but simple. Very juicy and ripe. Some flowery notes come through the finish. (3.75)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with strong tangerine, pineapple, yuzu, pomelo, grapefruit, papaya. Mostly juicy, bu some flower blend in the mix. It lots of ripe tangerine and grapefruit (yuzu & pomelo) without the grapefruit tartness. Just ripe and juicy with a nice flowery note to bring it off the ground. Finishes rather sweet and sticky. (4.00)

Feel: Medium-bodied. Strong carbonation. Still it finishes pleasantly ripe and sticky on the palate. (3.75)

Compared w/ Mankato Brewery's DDH Reality Is IPA: Pours a lighter color. Strong tangerine and grapefruit citrus. Less vinous green grape. A stronger bitterness and less sweet.

Overall: A ripe citrus forward IPA that is rather sweet and sticky. Simple ripe tangerine, grapefruit, with a nice flower component to balance the sweetness. The yuzu and pomelo create a strong and ripe grapefruit flavor without the bitterness. It's a tropical vacation no doubt. Creates a unique blend of qualities. (Final Rating: 3.85)

I picked up an Oskar Blues mixed 15 pack recently (featuring Mama's Little Yella Pils, Dale's Pale, G'Knight, Pinner, and this very beer) and was happy to see that most of the pack was actually not too old. Since all of the beers have different dates, I get why they didn't want to print a date on the outside of the can, but maybe at least give a BBE so I know whether or not the whole thing is bunk before I drop (a very fair, to be honest) $19 on it.

Anyway, this is Can-O-Bliss: Citrus, which features a really unusual and surprisingly-inspired hop combination. Motueka, Amarillo, Mandarina, Citra, Azacca, and Experimental #06277 (aka Denali) congeal in this cool IPA that pours a supremely hazy medium-orange color with a fantastic, tall head of bone-white foam. Awesome legs and a good collar of lace that seems to dissipate a bit as the head itself fades out. Overall, I was surprised and kinda impressed by the fact that this is unabashedly hazy as hell without marketing itself that way, and it has some nice satellite elements to the pour as well. Good for OB.

The nose is kind of oddly coconut-forward, with some other vanilla and orange elements on the outskirts. Perhaps this is a little past its prime? But it's not bad, just weird. I can definitely detect the unusual citrus aspects they're trying to play up (their website talks about yuzu and kaffir lime, and I see where they're coming from even if it doesn't manifest fully), and, like I said, that's a super cool league of hops put together for this one. Maybe they don't all work together well or something, but the selection itself is like a "who's who" of interesting citrusy hop varietals. I think this deserves an A for effort even though it's not super-convincing upfront.

On the tongue, it's a bit better; the citrus flavors they're working towards get a bit more apparent "screen time" as it were; I pick up some soft maltiness initially, but it's followed by a legitimately interesting combination of pomelo, tangerine, papaya, and passion fruit, with some light acerbic lime and yuzu notes toward the finish of each sip. The malt here is really good with regard to balancing the proceedings, but I'd say this could likely be considered 3-5 weeks past its prime. The feel is coating and rather nice, and the carbonation is present enough to keep this beer inviting and drinkable. This is pretty successful honestly. I will enjoy the other couple cans of it that I have.

Look...pale yellow brown. looks like hazy unfiltered beer

Smell...very nice considering it said 10-18-19 Huh? it just hit the shelf at total wine almost 4 months old.
My bitch is that they are in a box so u don't know until you buy them. Knowing that next time I grab these I am gonna rip the box open.

Taste. What I signed up for citrusy hops mmm, piney of course with a good bittering as it warms up a little bit. Reminds a little of Smutty IPA (I drank those for years before the crazy IPA Onslaught)

Overall...Tasty IPA definitely. I would like to try it before 3 months it might help and it might not but I like to know. I mean North Carolina isn't that far AWAY!! Good Stuff

Feel...Robust stickiness

This beer pours a slightly hazy gold with a decent head. The aroma is bold with bright mango, tangerine, clementine, grapefruit peel, kiwi. The flavor is bursting with bright clementine and tangeriine flavors, mango, kiwi, and cannabis. The moutfeel is moderate and crisp, with bright fizzy carbonation. Overall a delightful beer, with exhuberant flavors and pleasant balance.

Bought a Oskar Blues Can-undrum assorted 15 pack at the local beer shop. This one poured a hazy orange into my large mouth tulip with a thick foamy white head that dissipated smoothly. The aroma is intensely tropical and fruity. The initial taste is all pineapple with some interesting citrus side notes. Mouthfeel is pleasant, all kinds of stuff going on. Finishes with a malty snap. Overall I really like this one and would look for it individually.

Can I bliss citrus

Having visited over the weekend and sampled beers from Treehouse and Trillium, this was waiting for me in the fridge at home. The thought in the back of my mind was that this would be a letdown in comparison. However, rated in and of itself, it’s a nice IPA with its own good qualities.

From the can it pours a slightly hazy orange color. A large foam cap head displays good retention, as well as rings of lacing. A good look overall.

Aromas of freshly squeezed citrus pulp, candied orange, tangerine, grapefruit and lime, both sweet and lightly tart. Secondary aromas evoke herbal and grassy hops, while the malt emits notes of cracker and honey.

Zesty citrus flavors are balanced and controlled, both smooth and somewhat crisp in the mouthfeel. Pithy flavors of grapefruit, orange cream soda and tangerine, as well as a light lemon and lime tartness. A neutral malt backbone evokes dry cracker and a light honey sweetness. Herbal hops add grassy and piney flavors and an easy going bitterness. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated. The finish is long, dry and bitter.

Solid all around, tasty and easy to drink. Nice use of the citrus flavored hops. Deserving of a good score.

Nicely hazy light orange color with a sudsy white head, there are myriad citrus aromas on the nose, and those aromas translate very well to the taste, with oranges, grapefruit, and pineapple most prominent.

But there’s also some exotic notes, specifically lime, which Is a really excellent addition to the typical citrus flavor profile found in this style of IPA, and there’s a nice bready malt flavor as well. This is really well done by the folks at Oskar Blues.

A few of these little gems were included in a 15 pack of 5 different beers from Oskar Blues, brewed December 4, 2019 (super fresh). I at first confused it with the Tropical iteration of this rotating lineup. Poured into a British pint glass by Samuel Smith.

Look: Pours a hazy orange color sporting a towering fluffy, frothy white head of sticky aromatic foam.

Smell: Rich aroma of cotton candy from the yeast and malt, followed by absurd notes of guava, lychee, pink grapefruit, blood orange, Satsuma Mandarin orange, and delicate peppery spice. This is derived from the Motueka, Amarillo, Mandarina Bavaria, Citra, Azacca and Experimental Hop 06277 that this beer is brewed with.

Taste/Feel: Taste follows the nose with noticeable added complexity from the malts in the form of honeysuckle and sweet biscuit. The bitterness is very mild, the hop presence is primarily aromatic and fruit-forward on the palate with notes of kaffir lime, bergamot, and yuzu zest. I get guava, pineapple, orange, and an overall clean juiciness. There is zero lingering bitterness, but a fruity flavor remains on the back of the tongue with a gentle dry sensation.

Overall: Very interesting! Quite the hop bill on this one. It reminds me of Scorpion Bowl IPA by Stone Brewing but with less berry character on the flavor profile. Drinkable, delicious beer.

L: Light amber with little head and sticky lace. Slight carbonation.
S: Grapefruit plus a bit of orange.
F: Thick. Small bitter. Watery swallow. Bitter comes up as an aftertaste with sweetness.
T: This must be a "juicy" IPA. It's very much grapefruit hops with a "Trix" artificial orange like remainder. Maybe some raisin.
O: Well balanced, not too heavy on the grapefruit flavor or not too sweet. This would be a great beer if starting with IPAs as it's not that bitter but has all of the hoppiness I'd expect. Oskar Blues was one of the first canning good beer and well, they've kept up with the crowd. I've had a few 6 packs of this as it's in more places where there are only a few others to choose from.

Very hazy body looked pretty close to orange juice, and the head was about two fingers thick. The smell was full of grapefruit, tangerine, and lime.
