Reviewed solo at Rattle N Hum's special cask festival for their special celebration.

Appearance: dark maple brown with no head. Ha what do u expect???

Smell: smells great, I get a sweet coconut, dark caramel and a pleasant earthy booziness.

Taste: Wow.this is good.lol. Opens with a nice malty and coconut profile. A creaminess emerges near the middle as the good old chub pops its head through and reminds you of the roots of the beer with a subdued malt and booze profile leaving a pleasant creamy coconut aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, no carbonation and oh so smooth like the legs of a freshly shaved models legs.

Drinkability: I would most defintely have this again, no questions asked. I recommend this to those who have had the old chub for a twist. Opens creamy and malt coconut with a classic malt finish. Definitely worth the try.

A special cask served on the handpump at the Brick Store Pub. $5 for 16 oz of this amazing elixir- on cask no less! I was thrilled to see this beer- I'm a big fan of this brewery, and I wasn't disappointed. Wow! what some coconut and a cask does for some Old Chub. The menu says 14 oz of real coconut inside the barrel. This amount gives a subtle coconut undertone that works really well. It doesn't scream coconut, it whispers it. A beautiful pour- dark brown with a ruddy complexion toward the bottom of the glass where you can see the light coming through. Good clarity when help up to the light. An absolutely beautiful head. Two inches and it sticks around as well and leaves some lacing. Very nice for a cask. Smells ultra smooth with some firm malty notes, a bit sweeter smelling than the normal Old Chub. There is some nice nuttiness that comes from the coconut, but the aroma is a little light and quite milky smelling. Tastes absolutely delicious, ultra smooth and with nice subtle coconut notes- especially a nice nuttiness and creaminess that hints at coconut milk. Some sweet coconut fruit notes develop as well, but still restrained. Very light oakiness and a touch of peat lurk ghostlike in the background, and the characteristically firm malt from the normal Old Chub holds up the middle to prevent a descent into flabbiness. Some smooth chocolate milk flavors round it out. Luxuriously smooth and creamy, this beer is absurdly drinkable. It just slides right down the throat and begs you to take another sip. Bravo, this one works beautifully!
