(review from August 2022) Solid ipa with good mouthfeel, nice hoppy bite and a piney/malty flavor & lingering aftertaste. Only had a taster, should've gotten a can.

Came across cans of this beer at the local Total Wine. Maybe becoming a bit picky with IPAs, this is a good beer but it does not stand out.
It does look nice. Sort of an orangish apricot color with a good head and nice curtain lacing. Smell and taste of citrus and mango. Some apricot ( maybe the color gives this impression). Nice full feel. Overall pretty good. One to get on tap if get the chance.

12oz, canned on 11/01/22
L: sightly hazy tangerine colored ale; crazy tall & frothy eggshell colored head; chunky lacing covers the glass
S: mango, citrus, pine, biscuity grain
T: biscuit, mango, light caramel, orange blossom honey, grapefruit, pine, tangerine, berry
F: medium body, very resinous, higher carbonation, bitter and dry finish
O: this thing has been in my fridge for awhile, why did I wait so long!?

Pours a well-carbonated golden yellow with a two finger head of foam leaving wonderful lacing. Aroma is pine. Taste is a easy pine and orange. This is a straight forward IPA.

Slightly hazy golden amber color with a substantial foamy white head and some decent lacing.
The aroma is pine and citrus with notes of honey and earthy and floral hops.
The taste is grapefruit, orange, lemon, possibly passion fruit, honey, apples, biscuity sweet malt. The finish is dry and earthy with lingering pine and citrus zest, fairly high bitterness but balanced by sweet malt and juicienesss. The body is medium, plenty of carbonation, fairly crisp but still smooth and drinkable. altogether, this is a very tasty and refreshing approach to an IPA with elements of both New England and West Coast styles, very tasty and enjoyable.

CAN
Hazy dirty blonde with a tower of clingy white froth; lemon rind, fresh apricot skin + cantaloupe on the nose; orange slices, evergreen bark, passionfruit, nectarine, boysenberry, lemon verbena and an earthy finish; bitter, round, smooth.
4x5
8 months in the can - not ideal.
The blurb talks about new hop techniques, but without knowing which ones, or what the hop varieties are, it’s tough to know how to come at this.
In the glass, it’s orchard fruit and botanicals more than tropical or juicy, with a scrubbingly high IBU linger, though it stops short of being old school Cali in its profile.
Thus this probably falls under the “Mountain” or “Midwest IPA” pseudo-style, which tracks because there’s something quite Voodoo Ranger about the branding.
There’s still quality on show: clean + dry, solid body, no burn, though maybe a bit carbonic on the fizz.
Drinkable but not compulsively so, curious more than intriguing, it just ends up with an “indie brewery on corporate money puppet strings” feel to it.
A well made beer but I’m just not bothered with it.

Oskar Blues BreweryⓇ IPA - American
Resinous hops are very piney, cascade style from days of old. Malt balance is shifted to high. Smooth feel with a leafy, earthy and slightly bitter bite. I've been very pleased with some of the more bitter-forward hazies.

12 oz. can, canned on 10/04/2022. Bottom reads HELD TOGETHER WITH DUCTAPE AND GLUE. Seems accurate, since there was dried glue literally all over the mouthpiece of my can that I can to scrape away, but I digress.. A new one from Oskar Blues.
Poured to Camp Crystal Lake stemless wine snifter.
Pours a honeyed golden orange body, lots of fine flecks of sediment, some mild haze, thick finger of frothy soapy white head that leaves good lacing.
Aromas of honey, grapefruit, pine, resin, tangerine, lemon pith. Earthy, herbal, & floral. Smells fresh & appealing; excellent.
Taste follows = notes of citrus (grapefruit, tangerine, lemon), berries, herbal hops, pine / resin, flowers, honeyed biscuit malt. A distinctive fruit flesh sort of flavor emerges. Tastes very fresh, and slightly tropical.
Feel is smooth, crisp, clean, easy-drinking, medium-bodied, fairly dry, bitter, & resinous finish, but easy drinking for 7.0% abv. Nice job, Oskar Blues.
