(review from December 2023) See previous reviews of various versions of OB Mutants, this iteration w/good mouthfeel; medium hoppiness; a subdued citrusy/fruity/tropical flavor & a clean, quick-fading aftertaste. Seems like each Mutant version gets less impressive OB, just sayin.....

RB transfer

Copenhagen 11/8 2024. 35,5 cl cn from Meny, Nordens Plads, Fra. F. Very cosmic can with a sky riddled by stars and some flashy red and blue rays fluctuating.

Pours unclear golden yellow with a big, fluffy white head. Settles as a big crown of foam completely covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of ripe stone fruits mingling with sharp citrus fruit and whiff of fermentation. Overripe mango and peach. Grapefruit and lemon.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed and balanced by a matching bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet slightly fermented undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is a tad boozy.

Fine Indian Pale Ale with almost enough weight to be a DIPA.

355 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.0%. Cloudy yellow colour, moderate white head. Distinct aroma of guava and papaya. Flavour of citrus, mango, guava and papaya, hints of pine needles and sprucetips. Dry finish. Good beer.

 

Not getting many tropical notes. Dry, watery hops, light pine bark. Lemony foundation. Good, not spectacular. Experimenting is fun.

 

 

 

12 oz can poured into a stainless steel tumbler-lined 3d printed viking beer mug - what I really like about this one is that it has a fairly dry taste, but the up-front acidity gives it a false sweetness, almost like a semi-sweet sprite - this is the first beer I have rated on here, and I created an account just so I could rate this beer - goes really well with Six Nations Rugby (yes, I'm American - Texan, in fact)

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus and floral hops. Tastes of citrus and piney hops with just a hint of earthiness. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Pours a semi clear light amber with soft head.

Smell is juicy and a bit sweet and peppery. Notes of gummy candy, citrus, pineapple and rye.

Taste is juicy, fruity and a bit peppery. Notes of dank melon, gummy candy and citrus with a soft bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and well carbonated.

Overall, a very tasty, refreshing IPA.

Poured into a wide mouth, grip shaped goblet: color is straw gold and hazy, head is off white with fine bubbles, head dissipates to ring on the glass sides with some spotty lacing.

Smell is herbal, piney, lighter tropical notes, light malt and oat.

Taste is more mixed flavors of pine, herbal notes, lighter tropical and stone fruit; malt is light toast and hints of oat/biscuit.

Mouthfeel is lower carbonation, moderate sweetness, low/moderate bitterness.

Overall a not so tropical, tropical IPA - but thats a good thing, tropical notes are blended with some classic hopping characteristics.

L- Hazy straw color with medium white head poured into a pint glass
S- Pine, mango, and lemon aromas are prominent dank herbal aromas as well.
T- Sweet and tart across the mid palate. nearly unperceptable bitter at the end. subtle tropical fruit flavors persist.
F- Light body and medium carb
O- Enjoyably tropical IPA.

 

 

 

 

 

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a very small, off-white head of foam. It left little lacing. It smelled of tropical fruit, floral notes and caramel. Sweet guava, mango, pineapple and toasted caramel with a sharp bitterness.
