another solid beer from civil life, bless these folks truly. heavy pour from can to glass on a cozy sunday afternoon, this beers a nice deep brown, but not the usual murky light-absorbing liquid i'm used to, you can almost see through it entirely in the light. a decent little khaki pants colored head rose up, stuck around to say hello and then drifted into a nice ring, leaving slippery little strings of lace behind. on the nose there's a lot of various levels of roasted malts, with a nice lightly roasted oat leading and some more burnt notes coming in. bits of coffee, chocolate and some nice earthiness. the flavor profile follows suite, with toasted oats, fresh black coffee, bakers chocolate and a hint of hoppy bitterness all blending together to make quite the delicious drink. super drinkable, almost soft and silky if thats a thing a beer could be called, it never becomes too heavy or malty and stays going down easy. another hit

Draft at St. Louis Flying Saucer, another local brewery to try.
Black liquid with no light getting through. Tan colored head, dense and long lasting leaving sheets of lace.
Smell of toasted oats and some coffee, slightly charred or burnt grains.
Taste is full of flavor, dark malt, bitter coffee, cocoa and chocolate.
Full body, rich and creamy.
Great way to end the night.

Poured into a pint glass from a 32oz growler.
Pours a pitch black creamy liquid with a nice tan head that is dense and creamy.
Aroma is of toasted oats and nice roasty malts. Slight burnt notes and coffee roast are rounded out by some soft oats.
Flavor is rich, malty and creamy. Notes of sweet oats and malt with a good roasted coffee note. Chocolaty powder is present as well. AWESOME! Soft and rounded mouthfeel.
