The more I drink and think about Pale Ale the more endearing it becomes. Pale Ales are straightforward beers and their charm comes from dedication to simplicity. But there comes a time in every brewers life (read daily) when he or she wants to add that little bit more... Hence the Dry Hop! What are dry hops? Simply hops added in the fermenter or cask - not boiled in the kettle. Dry hop additions do not impart the bitterness that kettle hops do and add a surreal hop resin texture to the beer as a result. In the end we are left with our beer a little less balanced than our status quo but the energy that the prominent hop note affords is pretty cool as it stands apart. Cascade is a classic hop for this technique as it lends a heavy grapefruit note which operates as an acidifier to the malty brew.

Poured into a mason jar from a 32oz growler.
Pours a nice rich dark and deep golden amber color. There is a nice half inch off-white head that forms that is pretty dense and slightly soapy. It recedes down to a nice thick mat and stays around for a very long time.
Aroma starts off with awesome hop resins from the dry hopping. NIce grassy and herbal notes with some slight citrus notes. Bready malty tones and undertones are also still present and not overwhelmed at all. There is still some nice caramel notes in the aroma that balance very well with the dry hoped notes. The dry hoped aromas, although note overwhelming, are very delicious and lively. Nice slight pine and some good citrusy notes such as grapefruit and some tangerine notes.
Flavor starts off with some nice grassy and lively hop notes. Also some notes of slight citrus fruits. Some tangerines and some orange and some slight grapefruit bitterness. Then some underlain bready notes are present. Very nice and grainy. Fresh baked bread taste with some nice sweetness to it is present but the dry hoped dominate the forefront of the brew in a balanced way. Delicious brew. Mouthfeel is nice and crisp and refreshing.
Overall, this might be my favorite brew from CL. Great dry hoped pale ale in the english style.

On tap. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a large, off-white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, toasted caramel and floral notes. Sweet caramel and citrus with a mild bitterness.

Poured from the tap at The Bridge a deep golden color with two fingers of healthy off-white head. Lots of sticky lacing left behind.
The aroma was a combination of light fruit, caramel malts, and grassy and floral hoppiness.
The taste matched the aroma. A bite of grassy and floral hops along with light fruit and sweet caramel malts for a very nice balance. Finished clean.
Medium bodied and crisp with a moderate carbonation.
Very tasty. I'll definitely have again.
