Frothy, rocky head of four fingers. It leaves lumpy streaks of lace on the glass. The color is light amber. The beer is very hazy.
Part earthy part dry caramel malt aroma. Nice floral hop counterpoint.
Dry malt start, almost like crushed weeds. There is an element of smooth pale malt but it's in the background. The swallow and finish has a leafy element to them. They're bitter but like kale not a normal hop bite. The aftertaste has more of the crushed weed flavor. This is not altogether "off" for me, just different, and it makes this beer a different experience for me. The body leans thin and the carbonation is slightly high.
Overall, an interesting beer to try. I noted that this was retired, but I purchased this one on December 24, 2015 in Quebec. It did not taste old at all.
