Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of black chocolate notes with some light coconut and dry roasted malt notes is quite interesting. Taste is a nice mix of black chocolate notes with some light dry roasted malt notes and some light coconut notes. Body is full with somewhat of a nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Easy drinking with enough complexity.

Pours a dark brown body with creamy head and nice lacing though would have liked a bit more retention. Flavor is smooth cocoa and vanilla and has hints of sourness in the finish though very discreet. Very easy to drink considering the ABV, would love to try the regular version.

Bottle from my cousin, Adrial. Thanks man! Served in my Bellwoods teku.

A - Dark tan foam settles to a wispy film, thicker collar, and minimal lace. Near-black body with a transparent dark brown glint at the edges of the glass when held to the light.

S - As I've notice with all of the variants of Zombie Apocalypse I've tried, there is an initial buttery note. As it warms, more of the cocoa and coconut flavors . Still, it reminds me more of a buttercream chocolate than an Almond Joy. Some toasted coconut and roasted malt flavors in the periphery, but definitely on the sweeter side.

T - Taste is a bit more roasty, with toasted coconut, cocoa nibs, and dark chocolate flavors. Evocative of melted chocolate. On the sweeter side, but reasonably well balanced. Not much alcohol presence, and a really nice finish that is lightly bitter but not overly so; reminds me of a latte a bit.

M - Medium body that is maybe a tad watery for the listed 10%. Carbonation is on the zestier side, and the finish is quite roasty and tannin-heavy. Needs more heft and creaminess as this feels more like a 7% porter. At least the alcohol is well-hidden.

D - It's quite easy drinking thanks to the lighter body and well-hidden booze, but it doesn't quite deliver as an imperial stout. The flavor is quite nice thugh, and I guess that's the most important quality. I didn't have any problems with the 500ml bottle over the course of a few hours. Representative of Indie's output; good but not great.

Pitch black, almost no head. Nose has lots of both the chocolate and coconut, along with a slightly burnt woody scent. Also a slight anise scent and some booze. The burnt scent comes out strongly in the flavour, lots of burnt wood with coconut and chocolate tagging along, as well as a strong caramel sweetness. The burnt wood flavour doesn't work for me.

500ml bottle.

Pitch black with slight caramel brown head. Cocoa on the nose with roasted grain and mild coffee. Lovely chocolate and coconut notes that soften the usually slightly harsh base stout. Better than the original, and I hope they do this again.
