This debuted in 2012 at Volo Funk Night event as Indie Alehouse X Amsterdam Dead Spadina Monkey - Five day soured ale fermented with a mixture of wild and Belgian yeasts for 2 months, aged on fresh Ontario Raspberries. Subsequent batches have varied between kettle sours, foeder fermentation, and sour blends. Blends with fruit other than raspberries or no fruit are listed under separate entries.

BAM - just an explosion of Raspberry on a 2016 bottle, still super big slam of berry flavour, sweetness, oak and body. The tartness and sweetness levels are perfect and switch back and forth on the tongue. Nothing like it around here, reminds of some greats from south of the border or overseas. Huge complexity keeps this easy to drink and more than a one-note. wonder. Hiding my remaining stock

Extraordinary. Tart at first and then an absolute malt bomb with an aftertaste that lingers like fine scotch.

S - Raspberry puree. Tart and sweet. Slight funk.

T - Raspberries. Tart but not sour. A slight sweetness and some bready malt flavours coming though.

On tap at the brewpub, described as a "Belgian Raspberry Sour."

Murky orange body with some pinkish hues. Light white head, leaves a small bit of lacing and minimal retention. Nose has sweet raspberries, a bit of berry pie filling and cheerios dust (you know at the bottom of the box?) and a touch of yeast. Taste has some light tart raspberry, bready malt, a bit of yeast and some lactic sourness. Medium body with some texture to it. Lower carbonation but sourness supplies a bit of bite. An OK fruit beer, but I'm not sure I'd reach for this one again immediately.

A tasty funky treat enjoyed on tap at Volo Funk Night II. Funky and fruity aroma. Very sour. Pink and lace appearance, the Belgian yeast giving it such. The raspberries really sour it up, I would want more yeast character to really make this one. Still a good effort and a great name.
