A rich sweet malty beer balanced with hops and dark chocolate and oats, made with “milk” for a smooth full taste. Not just for breakfast!

From notes on the "breakfast porter" taken yesterday afternoon during a fantastic lunch at the brewery's restaurant.
A clear, dark brown beer with little head and no lacing. Disappointingly thin, but otherwise reasonable mouthfeel. Aroma of roasted dark and chocolate malts. Has a well balanced taste, with a nice combination of both sweet and bitter in the finish.
Overall a decent porter that hides the listed 7.2% ABV disturbingly well.

Deep brown-near black in colour, about a finger of tan head, good amount of lace and pretty solid retention as well. Smell is a bit neutral, coffee witha bit of roast and chocolate as well. Taste is full of coffee and roasted malt, a ton of bittersweet chocolate mid palate, nice hop bitterness as well. Medium-light prickly carbonation, medium body. This was a super solid porter that I would gladly drink more of, very nice drinkability with lots of flavour as well.

Growler filled earlier today from the brewpub, into a tulip several times over.
Dark brown, almost black, with some chestnut at the edges. Carbonation is very moderate , and only a finger or so of head comes through even with a big pour. Tan head, film of retention and some lace. Nose of some coffee roast, and dark chocolate. Not much else to it. Taste has more coffee, roast, several layers of chocolate and some sweeter milkier notes. Sweeter side as to avoid some tartness as I often encounter in roastier beers. Medium feel, carbonation as anticipated is relatively low, but is absolutely welcome for this beer. Dangerously drinkable, glad I've got the growler to myself.

Very good porter. A great roasting that comes through in the aroma and in the taste. dark colour, mdoerate head. a bit on the sweet side. A Drying finish. Chocolate and coffee story, a bit like an imperial stout. Golding hops which lend it a citrus flavour. Ver good drinkability.

On tap @ Burger Bar.
A - Poured a dark brown, almost black colour with a small amount of cream boloured head.
S - Chocolate, light coffee and some roasted malts. A somewhat weak nose given the ABV and the style.
T - Bitter chocolate and roasted malts with a light touch of coffee. The ABV is extremely well hidden, which is both good and bad. Very easy to drink yet lacking some of the complexity that I expected.
M - Light body. Watery. I expected more body from this one.
O - A decent example of the style. I feel that with a little bit of tweaking to the recipe, this could be a great beer. Hopefully we will see that. That said, I am extremely excited about this brewery and the fact that they are brewing full flavoured, bold beers. I have a feeling that they will quickly become one of my favourite local breweries. Keep up the great work guys!
