On tap at the brewery. Listed on the board at 9.5% ABV.
Dark brown/black with a tan head. Great lace, but minimal retention. Nose of a very hoppy porter, grapefruit and tropical notes, chocolate, roast and some sweeter malt as well. Taste is roasty, chocolate, brown sugar, sweet maltiness with bitter hopping, mostly tropical hop flavours. Long bitter finish, medium full feel and medium carbonation. A strong ale that's tough to categorize - quite a bit to deal with here in terms of flavour, and while it was interesting I wasn't floored. Smaller serving size of this was probably just about enough for my liking.

T - Extremely noticeable alcohol presence that doesn't go away even as my palate adjusts to the beer. Some fruiy and citrus flavours and light roast.

Unique beer enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. In my imagination, this would be inspired by Hurricane Sandy, with waves so high that a shark would be on top of the wave prompting a surfer to flip over it. Now for the beer: a strong hoppy porter. Black with good lace. Medium mouthfeel. Grows on me. Aromas of citra cat p and yeast.
