Deep yellow color, very clean appearance, with an average white foam.
Not so good malt and worse hop in the smell.
In the mouth, nothing better. It left a very few tastes.
Artificial, banal.

Ceres Top - the old Aarhus classic and one of Denmarks most exported beer. It lies in the taste and expression somewhere between Carlsberg (Hof) and Tuborg (Green). It has nothing great to offer, but cooled or chilled it is a pretty good 'hand beer'. As a mainstream beer, it is far better than Carlsberg, but has nothing on Tuborg. Drink it once a tourist in Aarhus, or find it on the bar in Eastern Europe, the United States or Thailand.

Appearance is average

Smell is rather non-existing

Taste is light and fresh, and there's a minimal use of hops in this pilsner.

Mouthfeel is...hmm well there's nothing there really

And as far as drinkability goes, this one is for everybody. Not as boring or watery as Budweiser, but among danish beer, pretty generic.

I had this beer in Italy in the bottle was not really impressed. Aroma has grassy and grainy, bad quality hops. Clear and golden coloured, almost no head. Taste is on the sweet side. I enjoy some of the Ceres beers but this was just an average beer that had no qualities that stand out.

I've seen this beer in the stores in both Bottles and Cans. This sample is from a large bottle. It pours a light golden color with exceptional clarity. The head is initially rocky and attractive, but is quite short-lived. The aroma has a lot of grain and grass, backed by a slight musty hop smell. It's not a pilsener-like aroma at all, but it's a bit more than expected. The taste is moderately sweet, with a little peppery quality. Not as much hop flavor or bitterness as I'd like. The sweetness doesn't survive to the finish, which is abrupt and a little thin. The beer is of medium-to-high carbonation, but has a really watery body. This is not what I'd call a pilsener, and I'd pass on having another. It's neither offensive nor undrinkable, but is a disappointment nonetheless.

66 cL bottle, something unusual for this brewery.

Appearance: Into a pint glass, this beer has an incredibly light yellow body. A forceful pour conjures up a head of sticky white lace which has excellent retention. Carbonation is incredibly low.

Smell: Underwhelming scent of malt with unexpected tones. I don't believe this is Pils malt being used, but more the middle of the road Euro malt base of barley with plenty of corn and rice. Sad. Nothing in the way of hops!

Taste: Bland. Some more life to the malt, with biscuit dough and a strange aftertaste of...mushrooms. I had 66 cL and I repeatedly tried this trying to pinpoint the flavor. I kept arriving at a earthy, moldy, fungal quality. Like fresh mushrooms. The hops finally poke through in the finish as well with some pepper, but don't show the spice that they ought during the actual drinking.

Mouthfeel: I blame the blandness of this on the low carbonation. Most of the other products they make are strong lagers, and I think they just haven't concentrated on the differences required by a different style (pilsner). Get this pup fizzed up!

Drinkability: Not great. It's less offensive than most Euro lagers, but it lacks everything a pilsner needs. Not one I'd revisit.
