2002 version, bought and drank in Sorrento, Italy. Clear, light caramel, forming a decent foamy off-white head atop medium-small bubbles with good retention and lacing. Aroma is light-struck with firm pale malts, some wood and caramel. Carbonation is mild to moderate. Mouthfeel is wet, soft and smooth with a medium-strong body. Taste begins with sticky, yet warm rounded pale malts, a mild hint of flavor hops, with perhaps some mint and wood, a moderate amount of alcohol is noted towards the middle. Finish is soft with some skunkiness, a hint of caramelized whiskey, more woodiness and bland bitterness, reminiscent of hop extract.
