First brandy aged beer thus far. Dark opAque almost black pour. Easy on the nose, pours a thin tan head. Very smooth finish for a barrel aged. Great overall!

On tap at Crazy Harry's in Winnetka, CA.

Billed as being aged in brandy barrels.

Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, and brandy aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour cocoa, brandy, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of woody bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but the brandy barrel aging creates a slight tartness in the flavor which clashes a bit with the base beer in my opinion.
