Appearance: murkey brown with a white loose head
Taste: i got a slight taste of the tequila but strangly i got a big taste of apples. Thjs taste like grandpa's old apple juice. Not really any wheat flavor for being a hef.
Smell: the smell is very sweet and you can smell the tequila.
Overall: this was a awesome beer it was lrerty pricy im guessing becaise the rareness of it. I love barrel aged beers amd this is the first ive had aged in taquila barrels. Good stuff golden road.

On tap at City Beer Store (SF) on cinco de mayo. Pours an opaque golden color. The smell is agave and oak. The taste is where this loses me. Salty, mildly oaky, no wheat. Admittedly, I dislike tequila, so this beer was not meant for me. At times there was enough oak to make this drinkable, but for the most part I struggled with it. I don't fault the brewer, I think it would be pretty challenging to make a tequila barrel aged beer taste good. My only comparison is Firestone PNC, which I think shines because there is a strong stout flavor to balance the tequila. With a hefeweizen as the base beer, there just aren't enough redeeming qualities.

The pour is a murky golden orange with a small off-white head. The tequila comes through quite strongly. Some of the banana, wood, and light wheat/malt sweetness. Surprisingly, there’s a slight tropical aroma. Plenty of tequila and agave flavor, some wood, and booze. Minimal hefeweizen character remains. A hint of solvent in there, too.

On tap at the ColLAboration beer fest at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a murky light orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. No lacing on this one. Smell is of wheat, banana, spice, yeast, and some tequila aromas. Taste is very much the same but the tequila flavor is somewhat subtle. This beer has a light level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good hefeweizen that has an interesting tequila element to it. Not as bad as other reviews in my opinion.

On tap at Blue Palms.
Served in a goblet. Super cloudy golden body. Slim layer of foam on top.
Smells vaguely of tequila, some wood, faint cloves/banana.
Taste of nail polish, banana, wood, hint of salty tequila, luckily the flavors are pretty muted.
This sucks, big time.

Consumed at the brewery January 15, 2012.
This is their standard hefeweizen but with the addition of tequila barrel aging and, if I recall correctly, agave infusion.
Presented in a small goblet/snifter, the beer is a cloudy light yellow with virtually no head; only a fine white ring clings to the edges of the glass.
Aroma is very, very subtle. A hint of wheat twang mingles with a fleeting dash of agave.
Flavor is also muted; the barely-there flavor of the base beer (some fleeting wheat) mingles with a slightly salty agave tequila note. An entire mouth-filling sip is necessary to even taste this.
The stated ABV is over 6%, but I suspect that's either inaccurate or wishful thinking.
Mouthfeel is watery and undercarbonated.
Easy enough to drink 8 to 12 ounces of this as it has so little flavor, but nothing to go out of your way to try.
