I went to two local bars that both had a namesake red ale brewed by Golden Road. I assume that this is it and that Golden Road contracts this brew out to local establishments. One was called BHT (Black Horse Tavern) Red, the other was called Wagon Wheel Red.

Had this on tap and in growler form. Looks like a great traditional red ale, a nice amber with a one finger head.
Smells of malts, oats and toffee with a mix of some piney notes from the hops. Well balanced and fresh.
Taste comes through with some nutty toffee which leads into a touch of mild piney grapefruit bitter hop notes and ends on a pleasant hop note. Reminds me of some rye notes as well.
Mouthfeel is great, bright, fizzy and yet creamy enough for its abv.
Overall, this is one I would love to see canned. A definite favorite for red ales.

On tap at the bottle share held at Chloe's inside Golden Road Brewing in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with lots of earthy aromas and flavors.
