Poured into new Belgium tulip. Thin head, probably not the best growler fill. Deep brown and ver clear, like a darkly steeped tea.
Smell is spice and roasted malts. Taste is certainly spicy with nutmeg most prominent to start and slight bite to the finish, just a hint of frambroise in the finish.
Nice viscosity to this one. So many brown ales leave me wanting more, this one adds a nice wrinkle with nutmeg and raspberry but neither seem out of place. Maybe drop the nutmeg by 20% next time but a really nice beer all the same. Really a perfect beer for winter.

P: On-tap in to a 16 oz cup.
A: SRM is dark brown/clove. Head is cream, bubbly, minimal. Medium carbonation. Medium lacing.
S: Big spicy nose. Nutmeg and raspberry, big clove notes, and some orange.
T: Very spicy winter warmer. Clove and nutmeg abound, with touches of raspberry and orange. Nice malt base brings flavors together.
M: Medium body. Big spice flavors incense the palate and give a lot of substance to the overall feel.
O: A very hearty winter warmer. For those who like big winter spices, this is perfect. While spices are heavy, this beer is still quite drinkable and not overpowering. Nicely done. I would have this again.
