They call this a "German style Altbier." Color is a darker amber in the shaker glass. Not much head, and it goes pretty flat after some sipping, though in the mouth it spritzes a little.
This has an interesting perfumey note, like an amped up Kölsch. Toasted malt flavors. Scratchy hops and bitterish with a winey mouthfeel. Darkish fruity hints and mellow flavors, but eventually kind of a musty stew.
This is kind of a stodgy brew, neither crisp enough to be more appealing, nor flavorful enough to be very interesting. On tap at the brewery restaurant.
