Poured from a 500 mL bottle into a tulip.
A: Pours a dark caramel and leaves a finger of slightly off-white head.
S: Toffee, caramel, oak, mild dark chocolate.
T: Toffee, caramel, coconut, vanilla, oak. Interesting profile.
M: Medium to well carbonated with a medium body. A little spritzy.
O: Quite interesting. Lots of big flavor, well balanced with a decent amount of sweetness which is cut by the oak. Solid.

A: Pours a deep copper/amber/caramel color with a thin khaki head that dissipates quickly. 4.75
S: Aroma is burnt sugar, toffee/caramel, oak/vanilla, traces of smoke and whiskey. 4.25
T: Smoked peat hits up front with a splash of sweet caramel malt and very subtle whiskey notes. Oak and vanilla mingle in the middle with traces of coconut and toffee and then the sweetness kicks back up in the finish. 4.5
M: Slightly thinner than expected for 11%, less residual sugar than anticipated. Carbonation is on point though, slightly below average (in a good way). Sweetness lingers on the tongue as it warms and creaminess intensifies. 4.25
O: Balanced sums it up nicely, this beer is not overpowering in any aspect. Barrel notes are understated but complimentary, sweetness is present but not dominant, and the subtle smoked peat element is surprisingly well incorporated. 4.5
