L: Pours slightly hazy yellow lemon color with a fluffy white head and nice sheets of lacing around the glass.
S: Nice light soft wood and some earthiness, some white wine grapes, a note of peach, and some apricots.
T: Light earthy wood, mixed with nice white wine grapes, some tannens, peach and apricot, with a light bitterness, finishes fairly dry. Very unique but tasty.
F: Light body and smooth carbonation.
O: Very unique and tasty beer.

Golden, clear body; lots of fine carbonation; fluffy, white head. Slightly fruity, grape-like aroma; light woody aroma; musty. Red-wine and wood flavors; peppery; leather. Medium-heavy body; acidic; dry and biting.
Different and unique are apt descriptions here. The syrah barrel aging is quite noticeable. The wood quality comes across like balsam or ash or some other soft white wood and there is a distinct red wine tannin note to things. Yeah, you're still quaffing a beer yet it definitely delivers a very "wine-like" quality overall. I assume that was the intent of the brewers, so a relatively decent rating overall. Personally, I would probably lean towards a more "beer-forward" pilsner over this offering.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
