intuition would suggest that a three beer blend would be too much, especially barrel aged beers, like it would be all muddled and messy, but bull and bush proves me wrong on that again. this is a real neat blend, with some chocolate notes from the brown ale, some nice dark roasty malted barley notes from the stout, and plenty of oak. more bourbon than anything else, sweet vanilla and honey and charcoal are all there, but there also seems like some red wine in the mix, concentrated red berries and the tannic oak thing i usually get from wine barrels, lots of complexity whether or not there actually are red wine aged beers in the blend. tons of oak, old and new. some residual sugar, and a lot of alcohol sting, especially when it warms up. thick, a tiny bit of oxidation, long finish with bitter and sweet alike, the stout element really comes through the strongest as it goes on. a very complex but well integrated brew. these guys have really taken their barrel program to the next level recently. i hope they bottle this one...

Is a mix of three BA beers: Tank Tank Brown, Liquid Brain, and Royal Oil. Guessing Royal Oil makes up the smallest portion, Liquid Brain came through real nicely on the back-end.
