bull and bush can do no wrong lately, and this is without a doubt my favorite of all the pale coconut beers that have come out this summer. not sure where this trend came from, but i like it! this is a blonde or cream ale base, a little sturdier than it sounds, a bit hazy, and very frothy and heady from the tap at their awesome brewery. the aroma is crazy, so much coconut, over the top even in the nose, but its toasty and nutty and so much more natural than any of the others i have had, so as robust as the coconut aspect is in the nose, there isnt a lick of sweetness or of that sunscreen fake coconut vibe, its all real! the flavor is like that too, earthy and a touch sweet, but authentic as can be. tastes like a macaroon cookie! the beer is a little maltier than the normal blonde, bringing come nice body and dry biscuity base for the coconut, an excellent combination. i also like this not being hoppy at all, i think the coconut has clashed a little with the hops in some of the beers i have had to feature both, and this is smart to let the coconut provide all of the finish, fruity and bitter, its surprisingly versatile in that role. great carbonation and creaminess to the feel, refreshing as it gets when its ice cold, but also warms up gracefully. a very summery and honest coconut beer, one of the best i have had!
