i remember when bull and bush did mostly english style beers! this is about as far away from that as you can get, a nice light lager brewed with rice, mango, and sesame, a really cool concept and subtle enough that it really works, a total pounder for the summer and still quite interesting at the same time. its super pale and golden from the tap, looks like a coors light in the glass, doesnt hold much head. the aroma is great though, a bright and sweet natural mango note, white tea, not too much starch from the rice, and a light nutty element from the sesame seeds, but it isnt asian specific to my nose, its just interesting and refreshing. sometimes these are made with jasmine rice and that floral element really comes through, i think the mango fills in well for that aspect here. not sweet at all in the flavor but i can still taste it, super light body from the rice subbing in for a portion of the barley in the mash, and a very dry finish, low taste lager yeast but very dryly fermented. i could use a little more pep from the carbonation, and the body is almost too light, but the flavors here are great and when its real cold its perfect for summer. im sure i will have my share of these this year. clever and well executed!
