a wheat ale brewed with kiwi fruit, these guys have been doing some pretty interesting stuff lately, thats for sure! its mostly clear and deep golden color from the tap, with a slightly perfume forward aroma not quite artificial on the fruit, but more floral and intense than ive ever known an actual kiwi to smell. the wheat is earthy and dry and cant account for too high a percentage of the grain bill here, seems very subtle to me. the flavor is better than the nose, with the kiwi being a little more restrained and natural, even lost a little in the middle to the grain sweetness. a nice fleshy tropical thing from it and a little refreshing tart note as well, quite authentic despite the nose. a little flat in feel for me, this should be more refreshing and poundable than it ends up being, but the flavors are good and it still feels summery to me. it seems to be missing something, a chardonnay barrel, a brett pitch, a gin infusion, i dont know, but it seems not quite complete for whatever reason. interesting enough brew, i hope to see it evolve some moving forward...
