This one's an interesting beer, and not something you normally see from these guys, so I was glad to try it. What we have here is a liquid breakfast - you get the maple and coffee notes early on, and then just a faint hint of the cinnamon later. If you ground up a nice little pastry from your favorite local baker and added a bit of alcohol, here's what you'd end up with, basically. It was lighter in color than I expected, but it's not a stout, so I guess that makes sense. Hard to pair it with a dinner entree from their menu, but I made it work. Nice experiment here.

a really cool beer here, especially as it starts to feel like winter outside, this is warming and delicious, but a lot more drinkable than some of the other ones that come on in here at this time of year. its a cream ale at its base, maybe a little more sturdy and copper malty than some, but its spiked with maple and cinnamon and coffee and maybe vanilla, flavorful and festive but never desserty to me. sure there is a little sweetness here, but the maple and the coffee together are amazing in here, some bitterness there too, and a baked sweetness to the grain that really brings it all together. i think the cinnamon is probably the most forward of the added ingredients, also cozy and wintery to me here, lingering in the finish, like a spiced cider or something, and also really compatible with the sweetness thats here. the balance between the extra ingredients is fantastic, i like how much of all of them i can taste, and how the beer remains drinkable for how flavorful it is. i probably wouldnt make a night of these, but ill have a few pints for sure! great flavor here, good idea, nicely executed. these guys do everything well! ill be back for more of this one this fall...
