quality example of the style here, nothing weird or inventive about it, pretty true to style, light to medium in body and overall. somewhat middle of the road in terms of robustness for what it is, but drinkable as they come and nice with a heavier meal in here this time of year. its impressive how many things these guys do well! deeper rusty orange color, frothy white head, looks just right, nice clarity. the nose is nutty and toasted but not rich and sweet, not as heavy on the caramelizxed vibes, more earthy, off dry but easy still, the yeast is german for sure, and there is a light noble hop spiciness to this, but everything in nice proportion, and the flavor lines up with the aroma, hops only on the back end, long simple malty middle, munich breadiness, a hint of almond, drier than it smells or looks, smooth in texture, frothy feeling, fully satisfying even if slightly less hearty than many. a touch of cocoa or something deeper, but it doesnt heavy the beer at all, and it warms up real well. excellent pint beer for october, and i am again impressed with the range here at bull and bush!
