interesting take on the style. was disappointed by the price; 7 bucks for a 10oz. pours a nice clear medium brown color with almost no head. smells smokey and earthy, but also a little sweet. flavor is like a good scotch, that charcoal peat sort of vibe going on. strong bready malt flavor as well. mouthfeel isnt the best, not enough carbonation and too much residual sugar left over. leaves that sticky teeth feeling a little bit. good strength anf flavor though. not sure id buy it again for that price, but i did enjoy it.

I hit up the ole Bull and Bush tonight and found this gem on the menu. Never had it, gave it a try.

Pours a dark amber/caramel/mahogany with a small off-white head, dwindled to a collar. Slick lacing

Aroma is smoky. Some cherry wood and baked caramel. It's a soft aroma and darn good.

Taste is great. It's not a powerful malt bomb. The smoke and wood characteristics are noticeable and gain attention, but they don't dominate. Cherry is in the back ground, baked. Caramel provides a sweetness to soften the woodiness. Very light hops on the end to give some earthiness and light florals.
This beer didn't last long. VERY easy drinking.
