Served on-tap at Al's of Hampden.
A - Pours hazy dark amber with a small half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a small ring around the outer edge, leaving small strings of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Smells of lightly toasted malt, dulled citric fruit, fresh cut grass and some light booze. Gets maltier as it warms up, pretty much overpowering everything else.
T - Starts off with a quick hit of citric fruit and fresh grass quickly being enveloped by the weird malt bill that I can't really place. Finish has a dash of hop bite with plenty of the malt, lingering long after the finish. The weird malt bill / off flavor is very distracting.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Malty with a decent hop bite, booze is well hidden. It is just really hard to ignore the that weird flavor when it rears its head at every turn.
O - This is a weird one. It smells decent but the taste is kind of off putting thanks to the malt, I think. Nice to see two local breweries working together on a collaboration but I think this one could have used a bit more work.
