Had this at Alewife during Craft Brew week in NYC.
It came in a dark pour with a very flat carbonation.
The taste just didn't get there for me. It didn't have the sweetness of birch beers and just tasted like weak birch in a weak stout. It finished too quickly and was just really lacking.

A - Black pour with no carboantion. Minimal lacing.
S - This smells like A&W Rootbeer. Very nice smell; fresh and not an artifical scent. I was stoked about that.
T - I was floored. This tasted more like soda, and yet there was a rich malty feel. The sweetness of birch beer is very forward. For anyone who likes a sweet sugary stout, this could be a favorite.
M - Rediculously easy to drink. I'd have emptied the cask. Amazed it was 8%ABV.
O - Highlight of the Blue Point Cask Festival, and now my favorite beer from Port Jeff.
