On draft at Tap and Barrel, Smithtown, NY.
Poured a murky dark amber hue with a one finger foamy off white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured earthy malts and a clean piney hop.
The taste was earthy, with a dry caramel and strong herbal and piney hop notes.
The mouthfeel was full for the style.
Overall a tasty and suprisingly hoppy red ale.
