This classic Baltic-style porter was brewed with black hulless barley, dark caramel malt, honey malt and a touch of smoked malt, and then aged on 90lbs of hand-pressed Willamette Valley cherries per 10-barrel batch. Flavored with natural chocolate, expect big chocolate and cocoa aroma and flavor, balanced by a sweet cherry flavor and finish. It's dark as night, full-bodied and hopped enough to balance the rich malt and chocolate-cherry profile.

Don't remember anything about this beer or even the brewery. Must have had at some beer festival somewhere.

Crowler fill from 64oz. Dark brown pour with a fizzy beige head. Aroma is chocolate, hint of cherry flavoring. Cherry flavoring becomes more dominant in the taste, lighter chocolaty notes. Sweet, slick, almost oily feel. Any of the base porter is lost with adjunct flavorings. Still drinkable, though, smooth, full.

On tap into a pint glass. Classic Baltic style, opaque black, nice tan head that falls quickly but retains a solid crown, and an oily appearance. The nose is like a cherry chocolate cake got hit by a rusty truck full of roasted malt and the subtlest touch of hop florals. This beer is like drinking liquid chocolate covered cherries and I mean it..... with a accent of vanilla laced black licorice. The profile evolves from chocolate up front to strong vanilla notes that transition to licorice and fade gently into cherry over time, with an notable milk-stout esque dairy sweet finishing note (perhaps lactose sugars were added...?). The mouthfeel is incredibly lush as one would expect from a Baltic porter, and finishes mid-dry.

Great porter, a tad sweet though, so I would reserve this one as an excellent dessert beer.
