Went to Laguna Beach on a Sunday afternoon and was there to meet my family for dinner before heading up to TAPS for drinks with some buddies. Laguna was PACKED and the parking was almost impossible to find. We ended up parking about 5 blocks away from the brewery and ended up getting there after the lunch run. The place was pretty empty, so we walked straight up to the bar upstairs and odered a taster set before dinner.

The beer was pretty average. Nothing too good besides their attempt on a fruit beer. The rest was just not that great. Definitely not worth driving down there for. Only hit this place up when you are in town like I was. Not worth the hassle.

The service was good, but it didn't make up for the poor beer.

Came here with the old lady on a Sat night. We stopped by for a few drinks before we had dinner next door at Parnters Bistro.

The bar and restaurant area are upstairs with the bar to the right in a quaint area over looking Coast Hwy. There's several tv's and the bar area, while small, had a nice warm vibe to it. There was a pleasant scent of root beer throughout the whole bar. The brewer was making some root beer. (which was pretty good. he brought us out a pint)

There was a solid selection of brews available. When I asked if they had anything hoppy, they gave me a good 3 oz sampler of all that was on tap. I ended up with the Geeter's Pale which was okay, but would have been better if it were colder. All the beers served were more than a bit on the warm side... i'll have to ding the quality here. To see how there beers are, please read the beer reviews of them. This review will focus on the establishment.

The service was awesome. Besides having a good size free sampler of all the taps, our needs were always quickly attended to... and it was a busy Friday night. My girlfriend also didnt care for her blond lager so they gave her a pint of the rasberry ale, free of charge. (they know the gals seem to like rasberry LOL). When the brewery and bartender found out we liked good beer, they spent a lot of time talking to us and giving us various free samples of this and that.

We didnt eat here but the food looked tasty and it was served hot. I could see the steam coming off the food as it went by us. While the beer was a good representation of the styles, it didnt wow me. I was hoping they would have one of their big beers on tap. i'll have to this place again when their brew is served colder.

We stopped in for an appetizer and some drinks on a busy spring Saturday. Parking was a nightmare - but this is no fault of the brewery. Parking in general in the SoCal beach towns is horrendous. Located upstairs in a 2 story building. Originally the brewpub took the whole building, but now they are just upstairs with a restaraunt downstairs. Bar is on the left with seating spread throughout, and a patio off to the side. Also a pool table and more seating near the back, overlooking the brewing equipment. Freee popcorn machine near the bar providing snacks. They were packed on the day we went, but the bartender was still friendly and attentive. The beers were all decent - better than average for the LA area beach brewpubs. 8 beers on tap, including some unique styles like a California Common, a schwarzbier, and an Imperial IPA. They also made some good mixed drinks.

I will agree that this is not the establishment to hunt down, not to knock it but nothing here was extraordinary. Parking is bad in the general area close to the beach, but I like the general setup of this little establishment. Small and cozy you get alot of attention from the servers and the bartender. Located behind the bar is the brewing equipment in the where you can go and take a look at it. We didn't eat here just stopped in for a brew while spending the day at the beach. The beers that my friends and I had were pretty good, but once again if you have other means to fresh beer don't bother finding this mediocre establishment.

Heard lots about this place and wanted to give it a try. It is right in the heart of Laguna Beach and on street-parking is scarce, but we found a municipal lot that charges 25 cents per 15 minute interval right behind the brewery. The pub is a little worn looking but it has an outside smoking patio that overlooks the ocean across the street. Service was pleasant and knowledgeable, but a bit slow even though the patronage was light on a beautiful weekday afternoon. The food was average and not worth noting. The brewing equipment is adjacent to the main pub and you can walk by for a look. Overall sense - take a pass unless you're going to the Beach anyway.
