A: Pours an opaque yet still clear extremely dark reddish brown in color with light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and cola brown + ruby red highlights. The beer has a half finger tall dense foamy tan head that reduces to a large very mottled
extremely thin film and a thin ring of medium sized bubbles along the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate aromas of roasted and chocolate malts. Very light aromas of coffee and earthy hops.
T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of chocolate and roasted malts with just a hint of molasses sweetness. There are some subtle notes of coffee but the chocolate flavor is more dominant. Light amounts of earthy hops which impart just a light amount of bitterness which does not linger for long.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Well balanced and easy to drink with extremely well hidden alcohol. Very nice malt flavors and decent complexity with subtle hints of hops and bitterness from the roasted malts. I'm impressed with both of the offerings that I tried from this brewery - looking forward to trying more.
