On-tap at TBC

A: The pour is a very pale, very hazy straw color with a fluffy white head.

S: Coriander and sweet malts make up the bulk of the aroma of the beer. Some mild sweet orange notes too.

T: The flavor is primarily sweet malts with bread and toast coming through. A noticeable amount of orange rind and a mild spice note.

M: The body is light and the carbonation is moderate.

D: A little too sweet for what I like in a witbier and not quite enough of the yeast (ester) component.

Pours a magnificent glowing pale gold with a fluffy bright white head. The head dies down relatively fast though. This beer has all the right unmalted wheatiness going on for it. Really light as well but just a touch too much carbonation giving it a prickly feel. It was pretty good overall, refreshing afternoon drink for me.

Consumed last night on the brewpub's patio, on to the beer:

It looks and smells like it's going to be good, but some of the house yeast seemed to have been left some flavors in the beer that aren't suppose to be there, such as buttery diacteyl. It's that one echoing flavor that damages the orchard fresh fruits that's suppose to dominate this beer. It was overcarbonated as well. Not one of Taps' best works.

Hazy harvest yellow body capped with a tight-bodied collar of stark white foam...a tribute to the wheat, no doubt. Nose is bright with lemon and orange backed with a nice belgian yeast.

Out of the gate this beer is smooth. Carbonation is subdued and the midtaste is nicely balanced with citrus and wheat. The finish shows just a hint of hop before the lemon / yeast combo ping-pongs into a very nice fade.
