On cask for Woodshop 7 held at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.
Pours a slightly murky honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, spice, and yeast. Taste is much the same with a slightly soapy flavor as well. There is a mild spice finish with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is easy to drink but I think it smells better than it tastes.

Smell is of malt, grain, spice, and yeast. Taste is much the same with a slightly soapy flavor as well. There is a mild spice finish with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is easy to drink but I think it smells better than it tastes.

On tap at Taps in Brea.
A: Burnished gold and transparent with a pillowy white head of foam. Good retention and lots of sheet-like lacing.
S: Sweet bread with sugar. So much Belgium. Fruity esters are pronounced, reminding me of apple, pear, and langsat duku. Pepper is light and alcohol is evident.
T: Candied sweetness with pronounced bread. Caramel is evident but subjugated by the bread and Belgian yeast. Fruit notes are of apple and pear. There's a restrained pepper-like spiciness. Alcohol is evident in the finish.
M: Medium in body with upper moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is creamy and sticky.
Overall: A pretty good Tripel. This is definitely not my go to style, buy I enjoyed this somewhat.

Sweet citrus aroma, a touch of peppery spice, and Belgian yeast. Comes together nicely.
A full flavor and a somewhat sweet tripel. Lots of sugar, reminds me of sweet banana and orange rock candy, though the Belgian yeast is also powerfully flavorful and provides some attempt at balance. A nice tripel.
Medium bodied but just a tough too syrupy.
A decent tripel. Lots of flavor--though, my criticisms would be that it's just a touch too sweet and syrupy.

S: A lot of sugar on the nose with a rather strong citrus note to it, too. There is plenty of bready malt and yeast with a light fruitiness and spice. On the back end is just a bit of banana and coriander.
T: The flavor is intensely sweet. Lots of candi sugar and an almost honey-like flavor. More sweet citrus and candied orange peel to it. A light spice note and a bit of yeast. Some decent flavors, but mostly just sweet.
M: The body is medium with a medium to high carbonation.
O: This wasn't terribly offensive, nor was it boozy, it was just sweet and that was about it.

This beer arrived in the Taps labeled pint glass pale gold in color, asomewheat filtered body, and a creamy head on top. The nose gets a good whiff of freshly sliced bananas and subtle esters. Now to the exciting part, the taste....its soft with a mild syrupy texture created by the sugar used in the beer. More banana flavor smacksdown on the palate. It's clean...in comes candi sugar for the takeover, it doesn't relinquish until assorted spices come through in the finish. The high alcohol in this beer has an easy bite to it. As the beer warms, the banana flavor gets lost and the sugary notes intensify.
A little more complexity would have helped this beer, but I'll do fine sipping on a pint. Not a bad price at $4 a pint during happy hour.

Had this twice now...this is what I thought.
A: Deep gold color with some head.
S: A mixture of spicy and fruity aromas. Very pleasant.
T: Again, taste what you smell with this beer. A little bit of complexity when it comes to the mixture of spices and fruits.
M: Medium-body and carbonation.
D: Easy to drink; perfect on a warm night
Overall: A good beer. Not the best beer on their menu (ofcourse), but worth trying once.
