On-tap at Blue Palms 3rd Anniversary Party. Tanzanian Peaberry Coffee version.

A - Espresso brown/black, no color shining through this one. Huge fluffy brown head.

S - Delicious coffee, roasted espresso beans, chocolate, oh, and then more coffee.

T - Coffee, coffee, coffee. Roasted coffee beans.

M - silky smooth, rich, with low carbonation. Oatmeal adds great lusciousness to the beer.

O - I really loved this beer. I love good coffee and TAPS did it right with this one. I tasted a lot of beers at the Anniversary Party, but this beer clearly stood out for me.

On Tap

Blue Palms 3rd Anniversary Party
Blue Palms BrewHouse
Los Angeles, CA

**This version was brewed with Tanzanian Peaberry Coffee**

Deep black body and a light brown head. Ringed lacing down the glass.

A fabulous nose of vibrant, roasted, fresh-brewed coffee! I've never had a beer before with such an authentic, rich, inviting, morning-cup-of-coffee aroma about it. Just stellar!

More intense coffee in the flavor. It's quite incredible how much authentic coffee flavor is in this beer--certainly the most I've experienced. There's a touch of earthiness and some sweetness as well, but this is most certainly a coffee-first stout.

Medium to thick mouthfeel. Rich.

A spectacular example of a coffee stout. The coffee flavor is so present that it perhaps is just a touch overpowering, especially for someone who is not a huge fan of fresh, brewed coffee. Fortunately, that person isn't me--a great beer!

Look: Almost black with a 1/2 inch tan head with good retention

Smell: Right up front is coffee coffee and more coffee. The middle and finish are the exact same as the front.

Taste: The beer taste like a blend of an oatmeal stout and a cup of cold coffee. It kind of reminded me of coffee bender but the coffee flavor in this beer is just a bit more intense

Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium carbonation

Overall: If you enjoy coffee at all you will absolutely love this beer. Great coffee aromas and flavors.

On-tap at Taps Brea

A: The pour is almost black with a finger of khaki head on it.

S: A really strong coffee aroma to it. It seems like a pretty dark roast, perhaps some sort of espresso? There's a slight char to it in addition to the normal roast. A light earthiness along with a hint of toffee sweetness.

T: The flavor is full of intense, dark roasted coffee. There is a solid roasted malt base and a mild creaminess, perhaps from the oatmeal. A light earthiness to it and a nice mild toffee sweetness.

M: The body is medium to full with a smooth, medium carbonation.

O: These Taps coffee beers have been really nice, but that might be just because they taste totally like the coffee.
