On-tap at Reserve Society Party 2012
Almost black in color with a tan head. Really simple and straightforward: this smells like coffee. There’s a little bit of dark chocolate and some nice roasted malt character. The story is pretty much the same on the palate: lots and lots of coffee flavor. Intense coffee, a hint of vanilla, and a fair amount of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Really good.

On-tap at Beachwood II,
A: Pours black with a cap of mocha foam, some nice lace.
S: Gorgeous coffee, heavy here with some espresso and caramel.
T: Delicious caramel malt flavours with a coffee undercurrent. Very tasty.
M: Full-bodied, very soft and easy drinking for its size. Creamy to at T.
O: This was delicious and very enjoyable. I don't know if they make stouts in Indonesia, but this would be a great beer for kicking it in Jakarta.

2012 Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest
Paso Robles, CA
Black throughout with a small dark brown head. This looks thick and slightly oily and leaves spots of lace down the stick. Pretty and appropriate.
The aroma is quite incredible, with lots of authentic, bold coffee, gooey caramel sauce, whipped cream, and some dark fruits. This reminds me decidedly of an iced Starbucks Frappucino.
The flavor too is quite the knockout. The alcohol is incredibly well hidden while the expressive coffee and caramel notes are dominant, along with mild dark fruit and licorice, whipped cream, earth, and nuts.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
A Starbucks Caramel Frappucino made into a beer. Incredible. TAPS coffee stouts have all been winners, and this may be the best of the bunch.

On tap at The Reserve Society Initiation Celebration.
A: Black with a finger of beige foam.
S: Pungent earthy coffee with faint dark fruit notes and a nice dark chocolate presence. Malt is charred and there's a decided nuttiness.
T: Charred malt and dark chocolate with a heavy earthy coffee presence. Lightly nutty with a moderate bitterness. Nice coffee presence but the malt profile comes across as charred and acrid. There's a little licorice.
M: Full body with high carbonation.
Overall: Nice coffee profile but a bit harsh overall. Still pretty good if you like coffee.
