A one-pint bottle with a BB of April 2015, so it's just out of date. Purchased a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described on the label as a single-variety pale ale hopped with Pacific Gem.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A deep, hazy orange-amber hue with fine sediment and intense carbonation. Produces a vast head of fluffy white foam that resembles a meringue; this settles as a thick surface layer. Good lacing.
S: Aroma of seriously fruity hops with hints of grapefruit, citrus, mango, tropical fruit, mild white grape, grass/hay, subtle caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Sublime.
T: Tastes of vigorously fruity aromatic hops with a powerful bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, peel, citrus, tropical fruit, white grape, mild melon, grass/hay, earthy yeast, caramel malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a robust, hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body. Pretty astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, leafy bitterness, earthy yeast and mild malt.
O: Damn - another amazing hop-bomb from Arbor. Looks superb, while the aroma and flavour are intensely hoppy. Gratuitous fruitiness underpinned by earthy yeast and subtle caramel malt. Nice body; very dry. A delight for the senses. Well worth sampling if you stumble across it.
