A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2013. Picked up some time back from Trembling Madness in York. Freestyle Friday #15 - the label describes it as a combination of five different grains and five hop varieties.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A hazy amber colour with light carbonation and some floating sediment. Forms a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a while before settling as a surface layer. Aroma of light, fruity hops with notes of white grape, melon and tropical fruits. This is underpinned by subtle malt, grain and a touch of earthy yeast.

Tastes hoppy - mildly fruity and intensely bitter. Hints of white grape, melon and faint citrus layered on top of spicy, earthy malt and dry yeast. Perhaps some rye in the mash? A penetrating bitterness upon swallowing; surprisingly strident. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and lightly tingly, with good body. Rather astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter stewed hops and earthy yeast.

Pretty good, though the hop bitterness rides roughshod over the other flavour components. Looks great and has a pleasant if mild aroma. Faint floral hops in the flavour, with the malt and bittering hops taking centre stage. A decent brew, though not the best I've had from this innovative brewery. Worth a punt if you come across it.
