A 500ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2013. Picked up a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. Another addition to Arbor's vast panoply of beers; this is Freestyle Fridays #34, an amber pale ale created by a newcomer to the brewery (presumably the titular greenhorn). Stuffed to the gills with American and NZ hop varieties...

Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A very hazy orange-amber hue; translucent with no visible carbonation. Yields a decent head of white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding. An incredible aroma of juicy hops with notes of grapefruit, lime, orange, white grape, melon, mango and passionfruit. This is underpinned by subtle caramel malt, earthy yeast and faint grass/hay. Slightly sweet but intensely delicious.

Tastes of overwhelmingly fruity hops with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, lime, orange, citrus peel, white grape, melon, mango, passionfruit, grass/hay, earthy yeast, subtle caramel malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spicy hop oils stimulating the palate. Decent body; somewhat light on carbonation. Slightly astringent, with an aftertaste of fruity hops, bitter stewed leaves and lingering earthy yeast.

Wow - anther hop-infused oeuvre. It looks a bit murky and unappealing, but the aroma and flavour will blow you away. Very fruity, with the bitterness dialled back. Body is OK if not amazing. Would be improved by more effervescent carbonation. A hop-head's delight, and worthy of sampling if you chance across it.
