A: Pours dark brown with mahogany glints. Large off-white head with a very good retention, that leaves a thick film on top of the glass.
S: Smell is rich, full, very yeasty, quite spicy, reminding of a quadruple with dry fruits and soaked fruits (raisins, figs, plums, prunes), a bit sweet but just enough to balance the fruits.
T: Taste is quite different from the nose, actually, the aromas found in the nose are still there but more faint, as a background for more straight roasted malts, toffee and some spices. The aftertaste is very hoppy, with a strong bitterness lingering a long time after each sip.
M: Medium bodied, more full than expected from the ABV but would have preferred a bit heavier. Velvety, never sticky. Good carbonation and extremely dry finish make this beer very drinkable.
O: A very nice surprise, a low ABV black IPA but full, rich, complex, from the nose and the palate. I will have this again for sure!
