Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a soft muddy brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Stringy sliding lace. The aroma had some sweet to roasty pecans and hazelnuts up front and then a delicate cocoa powder backbone to it. The flavor balanced fairly nice between the roast and the sweet. Fairly damp malty aftertaste with the same sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. ABV felt as projected by the brewer. Nice balance between smooth and roast along my tongue. Overall, pretty impressed with this brown ale, well worthy of having again.
